HUMAN TRAFFICKING -BURNING ISSUE

Before knowing whether human human trafficking is ethical or unethical. Let us put an eye on what is it.

What is Human Trafficking?

Trafficking is a global justice problem that has negative impact on the lives of the poorest and most vulnerable people. It's an crime against humanity and unethical business practice for earning money. In this, usually poor  boys, girls and even small children and adults are kidnapped to sell them in a market for using them as sexual slavery, labor and sexual exploitation. They are also forced for extraction of their organs and tissues, including surrogacy and ova removal.

Sex trafficking is one of the biggest criminal businesses in the world. In 2012, the International Labor Organization reported 20.9 million people subjected to labor  and in 2016,25 million people were subjected to labor.

Now,let's talk about the facts of human trafficking:-
1-It involves transporting someone into a situation of exploitation. It also includes forced labor, marriage, prostitution, and organ removal.
2-Internationally,20-40 million people are involved in modern slavery. Some of the cases, are undetected that United Nations refer to as"the hidden figure of crime".
3-It is also estimated that only 0.4% of the cases are identified, rest go undetected.
4-It earns global profits of roughly $150 billion a year for traffickers and $99 billion for commercial sexual exploitation.
5-Globally,71% of enslaved people are women and girls and 29% are boys.

Causes of Human Trafficking:-

1-Poverty:-The main reason for it is poverty which drive parents to sell their children or other family family members for slavery.People who are poor are targeted more by traffickers, who offer them to earn money.

2-Lack of education:-The decreased knowledge and decreased work opportunities can also cause great vulnerability for human trafficking.

3-The main causes of human trafficking are complex and interlinked, which include economic, social and political factors.

4-The other factors are weak government, lack of human rights, corruption, civil unrest, lack of access to jobs or education, family disruption, etc.

5-The foremost reason can be demand for sex and cheap labor which helps people to fulfill their physical needs and produce products at cheap labor price but sell them at higher price.

Suggestions to stop Human Trafficking:-

1-Police should be alert for import and export of goods so that there is no exchange of humans in drums.

2-Proper documentation of body part donation is must, with police verification.

3-No child labor must be allowed.

4-Encouragement of girls towards education.

5-Human trafficking must be included in secondary education.

6-Prostitution must be legal in our country.

7-Dowry system must be banned.

8-Sex determination before birth of child should be banned.
